One of the keys to your online success is to own more of the internet.
Basically this means to have more web sites out there with your name stamped on them. And there are many ways to do this including articles, podcasts, youtube videos, etc.

But one of the easiest ways to do it is to start a blog.

You can do this by simply going to wordpress.com and playing around.

The bottom line is a blog is really easy to use.

And they get indexed by the search engines really easily. For instance, the other day I wrote an article titled “How to get tons of ideas.”
Now if you go to google.com and type in “how to get tons of ideas” you’ll notice my article comes up as number one. Granted, it is the exact name of the title of my blog. And I am not up there for a major keyword, but it gives you an indication of the way the whole process works.
Obviously, if I was keyword savvy I could pick out some ‘long tail keywords’ (keywords with many words) and optimise for them by mentioning the word several times in the article.

I don’t do that. But I might one day.

Anyway, the big question is: DO BLOGS ACTUALLY WORK

Well, I am new to the game.

So I cannot say they have a huge impact for sure. But my little boy woke me up at 3:30am this morning and I thought I’d check out twitter on my iphone (yes, my mind never shuts down, as my wife keeps telling me ;-) and came across a
tweet which reffered me to a site called hubspot which stated that according to one of their studies…
Web sites who blog get 55% more visitors
Web sites who blog get 97% more inbound links (which improves your results with the search engines)
web sites who blog get 434% more inedxed pages

Good enough reason to start blogging, me thinks.

After all, the answer to success online comes down to two things:

1. Getting more traffic via blogging, videos, podcasts and hundreds of other strategies you can learn about by clicking here

2. Converting that traffic into sales by understanding how to create compelling copy

All fo now.
