One of the greatest keys to success in business
is knowing how to cheat.

Not exactly the advice you’d get from most of
the ‘experts’, but it’s true.

Very few people are naturally good at business.
Unless we are blessed with a mother or father who
was a wealthy genius, most of us start from the
exact same position.

Very few people know how to make money intuitively.

Very few people are naturally born great writers.

What’s worse is that most business owners follow
those getting hapless results in their industry
and then complain that marketing / advertising /
direct mail doesn’t work.

In my study of copywriting and advertising – I’ve
learnt everything from following in the footsteps
and “”cheating”" off others.

My success certainly hasn’t come from original
thought.

Now I am a big believer in relying on instinct,
trusting your gut feeling, etc. In fact, I read
a book by Donald Trump last year “”Think Big and

Kick Ass”" and he has similar views regarding ‘trusting your gut’.

That being said, instinct does not replace skill.

Think about it: if you were going in for brain
surgery, would you want a guy who relied on his
own instincts… or someone who has studied with
the best in the industry for ten years and knew
what he was doing.

Let’s face it, most of us know we’ll only get
results by doing stuff which is proven and tested.

Yet, when it comes time to write an ad or coming
up with a new marketing campaign, why is it so many
people attempt to write the ad themselves… consult
with others who don’t know what they are talking
about… or rely on the advertising sales rep (who
probably has almost ZERO training) to do it for us.

It’s because we can all write… we trust the opinions
of our well meaning friends… and we don’t know
any better.

But as the economy slows down and money is tight…

You can’t afford to waste your advertising dollars.

You can’t afford to rely on just one medium.

And you can’t go throwing good money after bad.

In fact, if you’ve ever spent money on advertising,
a sales letter or marketing which didn’t work, you
know what I’m talking about.

At the present moment, the best thing you can do to
make more money in your business is learn a bundle
of proven ways to get new customers.

Tread a proven path. Don’t just rely on gut instinct.

of one of my clients, Julie McGaw. Here is what she
told me in an email last week:

Hello!

I’m a subscriber to the More Customers Made Easy
mailout and I have to say, it’s working for me. I
began applying the information from Lesson 4 – Boost
Response from your Mailings – in late November and
so far it’s brought in $1210 against just $110 from
my previous method of just one mailout of a free
magazine to prospective customers. I’ve also devised
a 6 month plan to use Lesson 4 with prospective
advertisers, so it will be interesting to see how
it goes! And having included your really simple idea
of creating a Bonus Voucher so that people can easily
see what they’re getting has increased responses to
our reminder letters to expired subscribers by more
than 60%.

Thank you very much!
